A Helping Hand for Cebuano Teachers and Vendors

CHALLENGE

How can we make Mariland Lending known for its lending services throughout Cebu by effectively targeting its niche market of Cebuano DepEd teachers and vendors?

APPROACH

By making visual branding appealing to the local community and using messaging in the local dialect, we can effectively reach non-English speaking audiences. To enhance the professionalism and appeal of our business, we should create a great website with rich content and an application form system for clients.

The PH locality is known for having the largest population of social media users who rely on it for information and entertainment. This makes it an ideal platform for reaching our specific audience.

Strategy

This is our third project for Mr. Roland B. Villaraso, the CEO of Mariland Lending Corp., MCIAGroup Inc., and IBS Software Development Corp. He was highly satisfied with our previous project, which is why he wanted us to work on this one as well.

Together with Mr. Roland and his team, we held a discovery session that lasted a day. It was extremely productive, and our team gained a deep understanding of the business.

We were able to identify some key ideas and are now ready to create a proposal for the project. After three weeks, we have the proposal ready to present.

Branding

The first content of our proposal was focused on the development of a new logo and visual branding for Mariland. During our discovery session, we identified some key terms for the business, including ‘rock-solid service’ and ‘helping our local friends in need’. These concepts formed the central idea that we wanted to convey through our design.

Although the current logo was good, our team felt that it could be more appealing to the audience with the addition of a logomark. We created three different options for the logomark and combined it with the existing logo lettermark. After careful consideration, Mr. Roland and his team decided to use the following design:

Social Media Marketing

Having a strong presence on social media is essential for any business in Cebu. Therefore, we have included social media marketing (SMM) in our package for Mariland to help them achieve their goals on various social media platforms.
